Assumption of Risk: By using the Pocket Winch (including Pocket Winch accessories), you acknowledge and accept all risks and agree to indemnify and hold the Company harmless from any claims, losses, or damages resulting from misuse or failure to follow instructions.

Intended Use: The Pocket Winch is intended to assist the pulling and lifting of loads. The Pocket Winch is not a primary load holding device. Do not use the Pocket Winch in any overhead lifting, climbing, moving of persons, or in any manner where a sudden failure of the Pocket Winch components may cause harm to property and persons.

Modification: Modifying the Pocket Winch or using it beyond its intended purpose is not recommended and all outcomes are the user's sole responsibility.

Liability Limitation: To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the use or inability to use the Pocket Winch, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Compliance: Users are responsible for complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and safety standards when operating the Pocket Winch.

Warnings

Mechanical

  1. The Pocket Winch must be operated and maintained to avoid the risk of property damage or bodily injury.
  2. Inspect your Pocket Winch before each use for damage, malfunction, or worn components.
  3. Do not operate if the Pocket Winch is damaged or malfunctioning.
  4. Do not operate if the Pocket Winch Line has kinks, cuts, broken strands, frays, abrasions, or any other damage. The Pocket Winch Line must be replaced even if the damage appears minor.
  5. Ensure that the Line is terminated and seated properly in the Spool and Capio.
  6. Do not lengthen or make any substitution for the Pocket Winch crank handle.
  7. Use only genuine Dragan Systems replacement parts.
  8. Only use the Pocket Winch in an ambient operating temperature range (-10 to 50 degrees Celsius/14 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.)

Entanglement Hazards

  1. Keep long hair, loose-fitting clothing, and jewelry away from operating mechanisms of the Pocket Winch, Capio, and Doubler.
  2. Ensure there are no interferences that impede the safe operation of the Pocket Winch.
  3. Do not place fingers, hands, or any other body part near pawls, spool, line and Capio during Pocket Winch operation.

Pulling Safety

  1. Slow and smooth operations of the Pocket Winch ensure positive engagement of locking mechanisms. Fast and or jerking motions of the Pocket Winch crank may cause the load to slip, resulting in potential tooth and/or pawl damage.
  2. Use secondary load restraints if there is a possibility of damage to property or injury to persons exists if the Pocket Winch line were to suddenly slip or fail.
  3. The Line must be evenly wrapped around the Spool for secure Pocket Winch operation.
  4. Operate only when pull is in a straight line.
  5. Do not exceed the load rating.
  6. Always keep Pocket Winch and pulling/lifting load in sight during pulling/lifting operation.
  7. Do not use the Pocket Winch as a load binder or tow line.
  8. Do not snag or pull the Pocket Winch line over edges.
  9. Ensure removable pins are fully inserted during operation.
  10. Always stand clear of line and load and keep others away while pulling/lifting.
  11. Do not leave an unattended load.
  12. Always require operators and bystanders to be aware of rope and load.
  13. Always be aware of the stability of load during pulling/lifting; keep others away. Alert all bystanders of any unstable condition.
  14. Always wear eye protection and gloves when using the Pocket Winch.
